Training Options
SPSS has a variety of training options to suit your needs.
Our courses are taught with a relaxed hands-on approach by experienced
SPSS instructors in a small group environment. Feel free to contact your
SPSS Account Manager to discuss your training options.
Scheduled Courses
On this site you will find details of our standard
scheduled courses. Under each course outline we have
included the scheduled dates for each location and the cost
of the course. Some of
you may wish to attend several of our scheduled courses - our
current course
schedule for 2005 is also available as a PDF to
download
so that you can plan your training for the year.
If you are planning to attend more than one of our
scheduled courses or if your organisation has several staff wishing to attend
our scheduled courses then you may be interested in the
popular
"Frequent buyer" discounts for individuals and/or
pre-purchasing training vouchers for your organisation. Details of

using the navigation on the left.
Private courses
There are several reasons why you might want to look at
private training, for example:
- the scheduled courses aren�t offered at a suitable time
or place for you,
- your organisation may have several SPSS users who would
benefit from the same training course,
- you may have special training requirements or need a
customised training solution.
We have defined three types of private training; standard,
customised and special. In all cases the training can be held at the SPSS North
Sydney office or a venue arranged by you, you can request the dates and you
choose the attendees.
Standard Courses
- The content is from one of the standard courses listed on this site.
- SPSS will provide course notes and exercise files.
Customised Courses
- You choose the training topics from the standard courses listed here.
SPSS Training will help you define an appropriate combination of topics that
will best suit your needs.
- SPSS will provide course notes and exercise files.
Special Courses
- Anything else! For example you
can request training topics that are not in the
standard courses listed here.
- Note that SPSS has course notes on
topics other than those listed on this site.
Guided Analysis
Do you need
help analysing your data but don�t want a consultant to do it for you? Would you
like training in statistical analysis on your own data? Then perhaps you�re
interested in Guided Analysis.
The emphasis is in guiding you in the appropriate thought processes
for data analysis. Teaching you the techniques that you need to use for
your dataset rather than producing results from an analysis (see SPSS
Consulting for those needs).
- You will
perform the analysis under supervision by an SPSS Trainer.
- We suggest 2
days of training: 1 for data cleaning & preparation and 1 day of training in
data analysis.
- Training is
delivered on an individual basis only.
- We use your
datasets and can advise you on appropriate reference materials for your
analysis.
- A compromise
between training and consulting.
