Our company is characterised by a continuous and dynamic development. Since the demand for our activity is growing dynamically, there has been an increase in our revenue and staff accordingly. In 2000 the number of employees was 50, while our revenue reached 500 Million HUF. In the next two-three years we are planning to have the same dynamic growth, while we are working on broadening the area of our activity with new elements.
The main value of our company lies in the knowledge of our staff. Among the experts you can find both managers who have many years of experience, engineers, economists, mathematicians with some years of experience. Launching the DSS Consulting Intelligent Applications group was motivated by the conception to create tools which offer solutions for special business problems independently of the general data mining software on the one hand, and to hide the intricacy of the algorithms and thus provide the company decision makers with easy-to-use and efficient applications on the other.
In many cases, the companies have lots of information about the users, however, they often fail to give an effective answer to the questions that arise during their business decisions. The answers, in fact, are inside the data. We need a thorough data-analysis to make the information necessary for the answers decipherable. The best way is to use special software, intelligent applications that is, whose data input and data output modules and the functional modules are specially set for the given problem. Intelligent Applications is the kind of software that makes high-level information deriving from known cases interpretable with the help of cognitive processing algorithms such as classification, representation building, uncovering relation between cause and effect, forecast and learning.
Our research also includes algorithms that have not yet been used by the familiar data mining methods. They may complete the task of detecting the consumer demands or uncovering the causality between the customer parameters and the consumer habits and integrating it into a complex system. These latter algorithms are constituted by the belief networks belonging to the branch of graphical models and have the follow ing advantage over the traditional data mining algorithms:
