VTR GlobalCom increases retention and improves market research
VTR GlobalCom, a subsidiary of U.S.-based United GlobalCom, is a major provider of phone, cable television, and broadband Internet services across Chile. In order to market more effectively to its subscriber base, VTR used SPSS for Windows® to improve its customer research capabilities, and the Clementine® data mining workbench to segment its customers and create powerful predictive models. In just one year, VTR improved customer retention by 13 percent by reacting quickly to predicted churn.

Yorkshire Water accurately predicts flood risks
Yorkshire Water provides water and sewage services to more than 1.7 million households in the United Kingdom. In order to prevent incidences of internal flooding, the company wanted an accurate way to predict which areas were most at risk. Using Clementine and SPSS Services, Yorkshire Water developed an effective flood prediction system that helped them detect up to 30 percent more potential flooding, take proactive steps to prevent major incidents, and increase customer service and satisfaction as a result.
