Home improvement vendor reduces “shrink” with the ShowCase® Suite
Chase-Pitkin Home and Garden, a chain of home improvement stores with more than 2,600 employees, was facing a problem known in the retail industry as “shrink”—an unexplained disappearance of product. By tracking its "for-sale" items with the ShowCase Suite, the leading business intelligence suite for the IBM® eServer iSeries™ (AS/400®) platform, Chase-Pitkin was able to reduce shrink on key items by up to 50 percent, increase corporate-wide visibility of store data, and improve its supply-chain practices.
