This just in: Two new keynote speakers have been added to the SPSS Directions 2004 user conference program. Robert C. Blattberg, PhD, professor at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Business and co-author of Customer Equity, will present “Predictive Analytics: The Enabler of Customer Equity.” Richard D. DeVeaux, PhD, professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Williams College, will present “Predictive Analytics: Making It Pay Off.”

Center Parcs Europe reduces marketing costs, increase revenues
The main goal of Center Parcs, Europe’s market leader in short-break holidays, is to achieve maximum occupancy at the 15 parks it operates across four countries. Using SPSS PredictiveMarketing™ to accurately predict customer needs, Center Parcs went from sending two bulk mailings per year to contacting only the customers who are most likely to respond. As a result, the company reduced direct marketing costs by $1.5 million and increased revenues by $1.65 million.
